When trying to decide what version of OpenAccess to use for their EDA application, I advise clients to use the same version that Cadence Virtuoso uses.
And how do you find out the version of OpenAcccess that is being used by a given version of Cadence Virtuoso? Examine the share/oa link within your Virtuoso installation:
ls -l installPath/share/oa
